After Much Time Away...I am BACK!

Well it has been quite some time but I should be able to write a few entries this month. My family and I have been going through some issues but it looks like everything is going to be ok so our family is thrilled!  Also, Work has been crazy and I have been travelling a lot, but I should be around for the next three months...THANK GOD.  It is nice that I get to travel around Canada, however, I rarely get to leave the place we have our event and it is quite exhausting (12 hour days with no breaks for 4 straight days...no bueno).  Anyways, the holidays are here and I am so excited! Christmas is my FAVE time of the year- I love everything about it; the smells, the lights, the music, ALL OF IT!!! Also, I recently joined the gym again and am starting to get back into a healthy lifestyle which, in all honesty, it is about time.  Happy to have some "me" time :)

Lucite, Glass and Acrylic Coffee Tables

I have lived in my current apartment now for over a year and still have not purchased a coffee table for my living room.  I really don't have a whole lot of space and  wasn't sure if I wanted a white frame with glass, or a silver frame with glass, all wood, etc, etc and everything I saw was either too chunky/bulky for the space, or just too pricey.

I've been searching and searching online and have finally found the solution; a see through coffee table! Whether it's glass, lucite or acrylic, they all have a really modern, clean look to them and the fact that you can see through them makes them ideal for a small space.

This one is actually glass which gives it a green cast

This is my personal fave

Obvioulsy, you would not have to limit yourself to just a coffee table, as there is a wide range of acrylic furniture, however, they can be very, very expensive. The option I am going to opt for is the CB2 Peekaboo Clear Coffee Table. The price is not ridiculous and I think it will be perfect for my space.  I'm going to pick it up this weekend when I get a moment! I'll be sure to post a photo of the new table once it's home.

Happy Friday!

This is probably an old one, but I haven't laughed so hard in a while.  Happy Friday!

OOTD: I am on a roll! LA Made Blouse with White Shorts

I finally found my Michael Kors watch! I was thinking that I had lost it, but when cleaning my bedroom, I found it behind me dreser.  I believe I may have come home a wee bit tipsy one night and tossed it a little too hard and it just fell right over.  Needless to say, I'm quite happy.

I have worn this blouse and necklace combo in another OOTD, but I really like the camo green color with the white shorts.  Very summery!

List:
Camo Green Sheer Blouse: Hautelook-LA Made
White Gap Shorts
Forever 21 Coin Bib Necklace
Michael kors Horn Watch
T Strap Sandals from Ebay

OOTD: Featuring H&M Forest Green Pants

I don't know why I decided to wear pants in the middle of the summer, but the green color was calling to me...and they are new so I couldn't help myself.  It's terrible but I miss fall colors...I'm a fan of dark colors, blazers and scarfs.

List:

H&M Forest Green Pants (new in stores, only $14 CDN!)
Forever 21 Green Ring
Forever 21 Pointed Round Bangle set
Zara Black Blouse
Old Navy Leopard Print T-Strap Sandals
Fossil Rose Gold Watch

OOTD: Zara Printed Floral Hipster Dress

This is a really cute 3/4 sleeve navy and floral dress I picked up a while back..its available at Zara right now for about $40 which is a steal.  Really cute 100% silk shift dress..regularly priced $120.  Has a cute ruffle like shoulder which is adorable (although hard to photograph).  I paired with a simple pearly ring from H&M and my Zara Vamp Jellies.

Perfect for work :)

Giving Isabel Marant a run for her money...The Aldo "Netz" Sneaker Wedge

I've been seeing photos of the Isabel Marant sneaker wedge everywhere.  While they are somewhat over-the-top for me (in a fun, whimsical way), I have managed to find a somewhat more toned down version that I am in love with.

Here are a couple photos of the Isabel Marant Sneaker Wedgess:

I think I may have been able to manage these nude and white Marant's, however, the $800+ price tag is a bit too steep for my taste.

I found a pair I love from Aldo, on sale for half price.  I only paid $53 plus $5 shipping.  Mine are a taupey/nude suede color and they are fantastic!

These are still available on the Aldo Canada site.  They're called the "Netz" and they are fantastic.  They're really soft and I can easily see myself wearing these with jeans and skirts.  They're also great for the weekend and just running errands. Plus, the $50 price tag is completely doable.

What do you think?

Zara Score..His & Hers

As many of you may know, Zara is currently having one of their semi annual sales.  While there a couple of weeks ago, I picked up two pairs of shoes, one for myself, and one for Ty.

These are called the Zara Vamp Jelly and I am absolutely smitten.  They look great with jeans, dresses and shorts.  They're so versatile and definitely worth the $39.  Ty's were also $39..they're a nice runner that compliments any outfit.

What a Day!

I am currently in the office all by myself (everyone else is either part time or works from home a few days a week).  Morning started out great and then I got a piece of really bad news regarding the company and now I am overwhelmed with work to do and will be here probably until 6 tonight.

Oh well! I guess I'll go get another coffee and sit at my desk some more.  No OOTD today but hopefully I can get a couple more up this week.  This is a completely unnecessary post but I needed a minute! :)

Neon Bib Necklace

I
Necklace of the day? It's neon...and I love it. $17.50 at Forever 21. Decent price for the quality and style I'd say.

The full outfit.....

Forever 21 jeggings ($12)
Urban Outfitters Blazer ($68)
Unisa Leather & Canvas flats ($8 on Ebay)

OOTD featuring the Zara Horse Blouse

Wore this to work the other day..a couple of people looked at me like "why's that girl got horses on her shirt for?". But those are the same people who probably enjoy mom jeans and unsightly Reeboks so I'll live.

These shorts are probably a tad too short for work, but its just too hot too care.  Please ignore my messy closet for now..I swear I've been looking for a curtain but they all come in sets of two and I can't be bothered (found a nice set at Giant Tiger in Collingwood, but sadly they were taken by someone else...true story)

List:
Zara Horse Shirt-Ebay ($14)
Gap black Shorts ($20)
Alfred Sung Gladiators-$20

OOTD: Stripes and Chevrons

An outfit I wore to work last week.  It is VERY hot in Toronto right now, so the lighter and thinner the material, the better.
(I apologize for the lighting, it was very early morning...and my camera phone is not great)

Zara black riding leggings ($40)
Forever 21 striped chiffon sleeveless blouse($21 ish dollars)
Forever 21 Silver Chevron Necklace: ($7.80-called arrow bib necklace, find it in gold here. )
Pure by Alfred Sung for Zellers Wedge Gladiors ($20)

ZARA Studded Horse Blouse

I am currently in love with pretty much everything in Zara right now.  There are feminine blouses, fun prints and pastels everywhere.  A while back I saw a horse print blouse that I really like, but that I just did not want to spent the $80 or so dollars they were asking.  I then decided to see if there was anything on Ebay recently and I came across this:

It was from a seller in China and I knew it may be terrible quality, but for $14 (plus free shipping), I just couldn't resist.  And when I received it I was shocked.  It is IDENTICAL to the Zara blouse..it even has a Zara tag, but I know it is not authentic.  Still, I couldn't believe it.  AMAZING deal. I love the studded shoulders as well. So cute.  Will do an OOTD with it soon.

Click here to visit the sellers store.  Be warned, Asian sizes are a lot smaller, I got a Large and it fits like a Medium.

Get a Perfect Ballerina Bun with a Hair Donut!

I always thought that girls with a perfectly round ballerina bun just spent a lot of time on their hair and had a good technique that I never seemed to be able to master.  Then a colleague of mine entered the office one day and I commented on her gorgeous bun.  She told me it was a "hair donut".  I then went home that night and youtubed/googled it and saw just how easy it is to do.  I started looking online and they were going for about $10, or you can easily make your own with a sock. BUT then I went onto Ebay and found one for $1.39...With FREE shipping.  I received it a few weeks later (came from China).

Trying and not really succeeding at taking a photo of my bun...but I do like this photo!

I absolutely LOVE this thing, it's so easy and I thought I would share the ridiculous deal I got on it.  Click here to go to the seller's page and purchase your own! For reference, I purchased the large, brown version for my hair.

Chunky Curb Chain Toggle Bracelets

While taking a break from a work event downtown, I decided to stroll into a Forever 21.  I went straight to the jewelry section and found these bad boys.  I think they're fantastic! They are bold and have an elegance that I love.

These are very light as they seem to be a plastic material, which is fine for me because now they won't tarnish!

Forever 21 curb chain bracelet: $6.80 (sold out on Canadian site, find the rhinestone version here.
